very innotative. Should do a great job. Half your luck. HOpe your wife stays as happy with her new oven. While she still in love with it and wants to use it..hit for a choccy cake or scones while the going good before the joy wears off.

Good set up OD, was it a fan force oven? If it was it would be good to circulate the heat. If you google drying ovens for timber there may be some info there for you about the best temp for drying.

Hi Darren yes the stove was a fan forced, silly me' the first thing l done with out thinking was cut out all the wires and pluming and removed the fans,Also l did check out one of those sites last night,Now l could kick my self for not doing that first, never mind l still have all the parts so l was thinking about putting back one of the fans l checked the temp reading many times today and it read 25C l am not sure if thats too hot yet l had corncob last night for tea,so today l put the cob in the oven and it was almost dry when l checked it tonight.so l might try a 40watt globe out.

I was thinking that about the bulbs as well, to increase or lower the drying time by adjusting the bulbs to lower or higher watts. A way to test best times would be same method as microwaving cut 4 green blanks and and do a weighing at time intervals to gauge the lenght of time to dry a blank. Why I said 4 blanks you can do a test for 40, 60, 75 and 100 watt bulbs. By hooking the fan up it may decrease drying times due to heat flowing. Good luck with your endeavours.
