    Default Bocote Statesman

I have had some of these kits for years so I decided to make a few.

This one is in Bocote that I received from Jerry aka Seer in a private blank swap, thank you Jerry.

As I said I have had the kit for about 4 years so unsure where it came from.

The finish is 20 coats of WOP, mm to 12k, Brasso, PlastX and then Nanowax.

Very elegant Sam. How long did it take to put on your 20 coats of Poly?
Is the Statesman the same as a Majestic?

    Thank you all.

The finish took me the best part of one week putting coats on polishing and then another coat. Some days the WOP sets hard in under an hour and other days it takes 24 hour or more. It does not like moisture in the air when drying. A hot dry day is the best. It is still by far the best finish I can do so I do not worry about the time it takes. Remember the base is the important part before applying any finish.

The Majestic is not the same as a Statesman but they are around the same weight and size also the Statesman is a more expensive kit.

A very very nice pen there Sam
I like the WOP finish as you say it takes time but worth the effort.

Sam, lovely, just beautiful,, ps I think that Majestic is dearer than Statesman, both are high end. Amos

Al I still have those book matched Bocote blanks you sent me years ago, looks like they might finally get made up.

Like everyone says there is no spare time in retirement.

Big clean up this morning neighbours all coming for a wood fired pizza and christen the new back deck.

Will put up some picture when we get the gutter on and its totally finished. Painting and staining still too do also
