Default CA and Deburring by GAWDELPUS 8 May 2015

This post is direct from the email I received from John on the 8th May 2015, in reference to a question on CA sometimes lifting at the ends of a blank.

Amos ! these are my most common tools I use ,the rotary deburrer is used to clean the inside corners and put a small chamfer as a lead in for the components when pressing together.
The triangular file is used to scrape the inside of tubes and to cut the CA from the bushes when removing from lathe , I cut in at speed. just longer than the tube and then sand to size (length) on a piece of sandpaper ,holding the tube as close to the paper as possible stops any tipping and off square , works for me hehe. Cheers ~ John

    Thumbs up

These were tricks shown to me by John some years ago.

it was John who introduced me to the rotary de burring tool.

John was full of hints and tricks, most garnered from his time as a tradesman. I was always
pleased to wrk with John. I just wish it had been more often.

Amos, thanks for posting John's tip as it is my biggest "let down" (fault) when using C.A, when l try to separate the blank from my plastic bushes it tears about 1 to 2mm up the blank, even when l try and cut it away.

l'll make some chamfered bushes, when l finish my shed extension.

    Cheers
    Steve
