    Default Bought a light box

just bought a cheap portable camera light box and took some pics, have not altered these at all straight from camera to here, with the exception of making them quarter of the size as they were massive. This was the first time I used this light box and did a pretty rush job of it.

What do you think of the pictures?

To me they seem good. But I am no expert in camera work. Rekon it will do the job real good. Well done. Can you show pic of the light box?

Looks pretty good to this amateur but I think the pens blend might just blend into the background a bit much. I am usre some of the experts will tell you why. No point asking me as I haven't got a clue with still photography since they took the wet film off me.

For brightly colored pens, use a netural or gray background.
Blue background can "fool" the camera, plus it alters the color of the pen.
White backgrounds also alter the color and exposure values, it causes the auto setting function to under expose the shot.
Beyond that, it seems to take good "studio" quality photos, the size seems to fit pens just right, and it lights them evenly enough.
Dont use shiny materials like satin for back grounds, use flat colors and textured material, it makes the pens seem even more shiny and polished.

I have one of these, except mine is 100x100cm, but 80x80 would be big enough

80x80x80cm 32" Photo Studio Light Tent Soft Box Cube | eBay

Mine also came with a white and a black perspex platform and 3 studio lights and tripods.

I think I have posted photos here..

I got one of those light cubes off ebay ages ago but never ended up using it, the good thing about the one I got from office works is that it comes with the lights and reflectors and everything and then folds up into a soft case when you aren't using it, even has a tripod with it (not the best tripod but does the job)

That's a great looking photo tent Jack. I've got one of the fold up cubes too and apart from it being too big it doesn't come with lights or reflectors and you really need to know a fair bit about photography and have the right camera to get a decent photo from it.
