BOW Jr GentII, just because.....
It's been so long since I've been making pens, and posting pictures, I thought I should put up a picture, even though it's just a standard jr gent II in Bethlehem Olive Wood. This and a BOW Cigar are the selections for an order. They wanted BOW, was up to me to decide the kit, although they did already purchase one Bl Ti BOW.
Wasn't completely without dramas though. This was my first Jr Gent II, and I didn't read the instructions properly, assuming the smaller bush was the nib end. So when I fist assembled the nib end, I stuck the connector on the wrong end! When it was miles off of matching, I figured I'd done something wrong, and that's when I checked which was the narrow end, and which the wide.
Amazingly, even though 4 out of 5 pens I try to disassemble usually end up ruining the pen, I eventually got the connector out and on the correct end without breaking anything, and I'm very happy with the end result.

Yeah they look great, but watching the video, I've never had a pen come apart that easily, regardless of whether I have a rod that fits the tube or not. This one, I used a tent pen. Same technique, but the peg was only about 1/2 the tube diameter, so I held it on an angle from top to bottom of the tube while I hammered. As I said, it did work eventually, but I had to hit twice as hard as that video shows, and took about 20 of those whacks to eventually get it out.

Very nice pen Russell. Hard to beat BOW for looks.
Just received my first Gent kit today so will make sure I check the sizes and assemble correctly. Don't want all those dramas you had.
Are those Penn State punches available anywhere in aus?Dallas

Nice Pens Russell I have done that for sure plenty of times. May I add an idea (I will anyway ) I smear a small bit of vasoline on the inside of the tubes and also around the piece that I am inserting. I tell people that is is to make the parts go in alot easier and not pu stress on the parts but I am lying it also makes them alot easier to get parts out when I stuff up and trust me it sure does happen alot lol.
Cheers Ian
