BOW and Tas Musk Set
The holidays has been great! Finally had some shed time when the kids went to the Grand-parent's place for a few days.
BOW JR Victor and letter opener.
The box is made of olive from SA. I ran out of timber to make the lid, so I found a similar colour Tasmanian Musk board with plenty of figure.
Pen and letter opener has a CA finish (20 thin coats). Sanded to 12,000, brasso and automotive wax.
Really happy with this set as was my friend.
Hopefully I can post some more in the next few days.
Thanks for looking and thanks for any comments or suggestions.

That looks really nice David i like the box especially the lid that is a nice piece of timber.
The pen and letter opener looks really good I like BOW it nice to work with.
You are a lucky man to get shed time in between kids and running your own business I'm really struggling to get any time at the moment.
well doneCheers Rum Pig

The box is almost oriental in design, simple lines, form follows function, with delicate ornamentation.
Very impressive set."That's why I love my computer,,,,,,,, my friends live in it."

That really is an exceptional set. Beautiful work
I think I read somewhere that figured Musk only comes from very low on the trunk of the tree? Could be wrong though, that happend once beforeIt's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

David
When I first made pens Musk Burl became a firm favourite for me Musk still excites me, you box and contents look great and I can but agree the lid does it for me also.
Kind regards Peter.

I spent 6 years in Architecture School. I found a particular attraction to Frank Lloyd Wright who is arguably one of America's best Architect. I studied him for most of the time I was there.
He was quite influenced by Japanese art, furniture and buildings which reflected in his works. This is where I probably got most of my influence making these boxes.
This box design has been a really good seller for me.
I like it and I hope you all like it too.
