    Default brass tubes

or whever they are made out of.

They are 60 cents each at Carba Tec, which I think is a bit exe.

Can I buy it as pipe anywhere and cut it myself? Will a scroll saw cut it, or is that going to do in the teeth of the scroll saw.

Alternatively, anywhere I can get them cheaper then 60 cents each?

    Thanks
    Eliza

Depends which ones you want , carrols and gpw have some ,you can buy 10 inch overseas and cut yourself, postage makes that not worth while though, wont hurt your saw I don't think it is soft and thin ,just drill a suitable hole to fit the tube inside a block of wood with a saw cut in it ,slide the tube to the cut in the block and where you want to cut the tube . I think timberbits may have some as well ,generally stocks of tube are hard to find even at hobby shops, I am trying to get some myself hehe. good luck with it though,If I get onto some I will let you know .~ John

    Default Sourcing brass tube

    Hi Eliza,

In Hobart the model shop has a stock of brass tube at good prices also rare earth magnets in a variety of sizes at much lower prices than the cataloges. Try your local model shop up there you might be lucky. It's easy to cut brass tube with a fine junior hacksaw just go lightly. Alternatively cut it beautifully with a baby tube cutter available from the model shop also.

    Cheers Old Pete
