    Default Brasso

So as not to intrude on another thread.
Years ago I bought a tube (like toothpaste) of Brasso it is creamy like toothpaste and yes totally different from the can liquid. you only need a small squeeze as for mine it has lasted me so far for years but one day? the inevitable will occur. At the time it was said there will be no more cream in tubes only the watery sloppy tins.

Anyone (Sam?) mentioned Brasso Cream once know where or if brasso does sell the tubes.?

    Thanks everyone for indulging me.

    Regards Peter.

I have had quick goggle and come up with nothing.
I did find a distributor for Brasso but they only listed the liquid so I sent them an email asking them about the paste.
I also stumble across some panel betters talking about the final polish and they were using toothpaste mixed with liquid Brasso. That might be worth a try if you can not find any
    Hope this is some help

I assume you are using it for resin blanks/finishes. If so, Plastic Polish from Supercheap Autos works a treat and is a cream.

    Default Where there's brass there's muck .....

    G'day Peter

Early in my military incarnation, with all the brass we had to polish, I discovered a wonderful substance called "Goddard's Glow". It was a yellow paste brass/copper polish in a tube (also came in impregnated cloth form), made in England. It was far superior to Brasso, not only in that it gave a quicker/better polish, but it left a long-lasting protective film, and - most important for a soldier trying to keep the rest of his gear clean - it didn't leave the dreaded gooey white residue of Brasso. A tube lasted me damn near my entire military career (mind you, the phasing out of black belts with brass keepers, and of solid brass badges, helped a lot...). I recall it was pretty good for other metals, as well.

I haven't had cause to buy any for a long time, so I don't know if it's still available. For general metal polishing of late, I have been using the excellent Autosol, which I was pleased to discover was an Aussie invention in 1929 (see CMS International).

Another fan of Autosol, I use the tube variety on both brass and PR, does a great job, buy it from SuperCheap Auto.

On PR I finish off with K&H Fibreglass polish, then buff with loose leaf mop on the buffing machine.

Peter as far as I am aware the Brasso paste is not manufactured any more

I still have some left but I also use Autosol and it gives excellent results.

You can also use cornflower and water slurry
