Thread: Brown Mallee Burl

My camera eats batteries must be faulty so I am using rechargeables and removing them between takes,seems to work.

Please find pics of detail and a single stick,I can provide at cost to me of 1.50 a stick in bundles of 9. They are 2 years dry and exceptional structural quality and soundness,they were wax dipped on the ends and I have drilled some already,just three or four times up and down on the drill press,clean as a whistle,no sign of breakout using the drill point drill I have drilled 150 blanks so far all burl and hardwood with.

The freight in Australia will cost around 9 dollars for a post pack that will hold up to 3 kilos.Each pack of 9 weighs in at around .56 kilo.That is just over the 1/2 kilo post pack weight making it a little dearer for the 3 kilo one.They are very even in quality,the best I have ever seen.

The size is 150 mm long and around 18 mm square. The woman at the post office where I weighed them begged me to make a pen which I will,she loved the burl. The colour is more honey brown than the pic.

My reason for doing this is I will see the like of this mallee rarely and as DJ did just want to share. If interested send me a p.m. and I will reply when I have my BSB details etc and freight sewn up. Peter
