    Red face Bugga!

Fired up the lathe to-day and all was going well until a beautiful cross-cut blank from Pasho decided to misbehave. Couldn't rescue it.

Hope to have some pics for tomorrow.

Aren't those overnight photo processing labs wonderful! What would we do without them?

Eh sorry, couldn't resist. Tough luck with the blank. Was it a really nice one? They alwasy seem to be the ones that go quickest.

Are you saying my wit is vertically challenged? Besides, I'm only witty half the time....

Yes to both questions David. Been away from the toy for too long but at least I know exactly why things went wrong. And yes, it was a beautiful cross cut cypress. I have some Cypress at home that I will tackle after I have finished grieving.

Yeah, x-cuts are like that. They look good, but are way more finicky... the slightest flaw or catch and Ciao!

A cypress x-cut? Can't say I've seen that before... hurry up with pix!
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

No pics yet as I haven't assembled said writing implements, and there certainly won't be any pics of the cross cut cypress, as it is in several hundred very small pieces.
