I have had several replys but many are not sure about the laws , so any help would be appreciated

I make pens from .308 shells and projectiles. I buy them from the local sporting goods shop, it is legal here in WA to buy cartridges and projectiles but not primers or powder without a license. I find the best projectiles to use are the .308 hollow point boat-tails I am not sure of the weight. The insert tube fits nicely onto the boat-tail and I melt the lead out after drilling a hole in the rear, the hollow point helps with the drilling as it helps centering the drill bit. The cartridges are about $38.00 per 50 and the projectiles are $35.00 per hundred. I am sure the local sporting shop will let you know the legalities of buying shells and projectiles.

Contact the local SSAA branch they will know the law and more than likely know of a member that will sell or give you some.

Your local SSSA range is at Seaham. (not sure of address)
Buy a sporting shooter magazine from the newsagent to get address.
If you visit on Saturday Mornings you are sure to run into someone who can answer your queries and possible supply.

Take a couple of pens with you, you might get some orders.
