    Thumbs up Burl Blanks

I don't know if this site has come up before (no search results), but this guy has some incredible blanks for sale. I bought some off him via ebay, and they are truly stunning.

    Hi all,

Mark Glowacki here, I am the owner of burls down under.

Looks like some of the guys on here have got some wood from me already.

For those who haven't, I mainly deal with pen blanks but also sell a good bit of turning blanks and burls.

    my ebay store is http://stores.ebay.com.au/burlsdownunder

    website www.burlsdownunder.com

    emai [email protected]

I haven't got a lot on ebay at the moment but I will be putting a heap on in the next couple of days

    cheers Mark.

Yeah but Barry you go cut your own you got fuel costs and it not the cheapest thing on the block. You do a tire your definitely further out than that. And you then got drying time. That ready to go so that not too bad I think anyway.

Barry, I dont harvest my own burls, I have a supplier that i get them from there prices are high because folks in the US are prepared to pay that.

I only hold a small amount of whole burl most is cut up into pen blanks. If you can name a place selling similar burls at a cheaper price retail i would be interested to know.

    thanks
    Mark.

Toni if you check around there are quiet a few places that sell burl for a hell of a lot cheaper than that, Brad's Burls come to mind, plenty of places in Tassie, the Woodsmith in Melbourne.
