Default Burnt Copper Jnr. Majestic RB

Burnt Copper blank from Exotic Blanks on a Jnr Majestic, finish is Micromesh all the way and Plastx Plastic Polish. I enjoyed this one, I did paint the tubes orange but have my doubts whether they needed to be?, hope you enjoy it also. Amos

Looking good Amos, I tried one of those last week on a Hybrid Cambridge but when I got down to near finish size the entire blank lost it colour. I was not a happy possum as it was looking real good just like yours.

Anyway yours is a beauty, well done

    Very nice effort Amos.

The kit goes well with that wood too.

Great work there Amos. That is a nice blank too - in the photo its veeery close for passing as a timber blank.

    Amos

I like that blank and have used it also. I did not paint the tubes because i felt if the brass should through it would enhance the color of the blank. hard to tell if it did or not. Thanks for showing.

I know I have done this to you many times but I was wondering if you could show a photo of your position when you take photos of your pens. I just can not figure out how you can get the effect of the pen looking like it is on a huge slanted table with the background. You look at photos 1 and 2 and if that does not look like the pen is going to slide off the table I don't know what does. The crease in the background material gives it that effect. It is strange that I keep bringing this up but I am just curious of how you do this. I tried to duplicate it but can't seem to do it.

Excellent work as always Amos, what more can be said, perfection again.
    Reality is no background music.

It's easy, all you do if put the pen on a sloping table and take the pic just before it slides off

JTT, no big secret, I turn the camera on an angle so the picture fills the screen on that angle and there you have it--A SLIDING pen!Amos
PS I then straightened up and took some as per normal, pps as far as whether painting tube is worth it, it depends on the size that you are turning to, eg, the cap has a thin layer of blank only and colour really helps it, whereas the lower half has more "meat" and colour only helps very little.
