Button click Sierra in Red Malley Burl
The title says it all. This is the new button click Sierra. Also my first attempt with red malley burl. One of my best CA efforts to date. Used BLO between coats and it turned out crystal clear. Still waiting on my shipment of Rustin's to arrive. It must be on the slowest boat in the Atlantic.
Kit and timber came from that prince among men, Froggie.
BTW, this pen was off the lathe 15 minutes when SWMBO claimed it for her own. Oh well, back to the lathe. When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Thank you all for the positive comments fellas. It looks much better in real life than in the picture (like most burls). The depth is almost three dimensional. Gotta give most of the credit to those wonderful Australian timbers you all have down there.
No Peter, I did not watch that tutorial. Did I miss something good? I had heard about using the BLO from somewhere previously.
I can't wait to try out the brown malley burl. Should be a treat as well. When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Al, really inviting, how come you got that good piece off a frog, maybe you have to kiss the frog!(sorry Froggie!) that is a stunning piece of wood and well turned, no wonder SWMBO claimed it. Keep it up, Amos
