Nice piece of wood you used there. How long do you need to leave between coats of the WOP?

Thank you. I did a coat in the morning, and another at night. I couldn't decide between WOP and CFP, so I did 3xWOP, 1xCFP, and a final WOP. Dizzy yet?
I'm still experimenting with finishing as I've never turned before (since high school). I've discovered UBeaut Shellawax Glow recently. The nice man from UBeaut recommended it for next time. I was thinking about getting a bottle to try next time.
(Like everyone, I'm after the impossible, bullet proof finish that's fast to apply!)

Great looking timber, and lovely pen. Finish with Glow, then apply 3 thin coats CA over it, and buff. Amos Glow WILL wear off so good to keep it with CA

Unless you can get a personal demo of the process ,stick with thin at first and ,do multiple coats till you get enough buildup to micromesh and polish to a mirror finish everyone finds whats best for themselves, a few burnt fingers will remind you with thin its almost instant cure, so a couple of quick wipes and away ,you will see the smoke on your paper towel or applicator to show you how hot it gets, keep the revs down as well as it can fly in all directions otherwise, some Nitrile gloves can help protect your fingers as well ,keep some Acetone handy just in case you need it . CA is a good finish but takes practice to master ,try on some scrap dowel or such at first to get a feel for it . Use a fresh bit of your applicator so you have a soft surface each application ,only a few drops at a time ,overdo it and you end up with hard ridges you have to sand out before the next coat ,it can be a bit daunting at first ,but the results are worth it when done properly , good luck with it , cheers ~ John

You could have a look here to get a bit of help with the CA application.

Thank you for all your kind comments. The movies on the Timberbits website are great, I've spent quite a while looking at them.
Isn't it great that in the past people would learn a skill by watching a craftsman, these days we just watch YouTube!
