Calling Malaysian Pen Turners
Anyone here a Pen Turner in Malaysia? I'm going to be in Malaysia and was wondering what interesting wood I might be able to get and where. I'm going to be in KL/PJ area.

Got a piece of the stuff they used to make Kriss handles out of. Now have to figure out how to bring it back to Oz. I've costed it in a few thick costs of polyurethane so I can be sure there is nothing alive in it. Any other suggestions?

Not a protected/banned species, no bark, sprayed for bugs in plastic bag, sealed with cheap PVA and declared - that is all I have ever done and brought back heaps from OS in the past. It sometimes also helps to know the species, so you can convince some uneducated know-it-all customs guy, it is not a protected species they think it is (yes I have struck one, but luckily I knew both what it was and what he thought it was, and easily convinced his supervisor).

I bagged it and declared it on the way in. The border officers weren't interested at all. They didn't even want me to open my cases and pull it out. I'm stunned
Procrastinating as usual
