    Default Carolina Cherry Eagle

I was rummaging around in some boxes of blanks and found this one labeled Carolina Cherry, it came in a box of blanks that I won a few years ago, when I entered one of my bullet pens in the "Real Ammo Challenge" over on the IAP, and it took out first place.
Since it came from the USA, I decided to put it on a "made in the USA" stainless Steel Rollerball kit from Lazerlinez called "Eagle"
    It has a CA finish.

Good looking pen. Too bad the kit is made so sporadically if at all anymore.

    Thanks Pete.
Yes, too bad they are not able to be easily purchased anymore. I heard he is moving his shop to a different location, maybe things will improve when he gets it all settled in.
These older ones look good, but I don’t like how the threads feel. I know he has addressed this on his latest designs, but good luck trying to get hold of any.
I bought a large box of his kits when our dollar was higher than the US$, he was also running discounts at the time and free postage, so I really stocked up. Starting to run a bit low now on the rollerballs and fountains, still got about 10 or 15 of the Liberty’s, might use one of those today if I get get down to the shed without getting drenched.

I like the blank but not over excited about the kit even though it does seem popular with others (we all have different tastes).
Having said that the workmanship is first rate as usual.

    Cheers PK, and Dallas.

Everyone has their preferred tastes in things like this, apparently the pen buying public in my area doesn’t like them either, or any type of capped pen really. Over the years, I have probably sold 50 Sierra and Elegant Beauty type pens to each capped pen that I have sold. The capped pens that I have sold are usually commissioned by people wanting something a bit special. As a result, I keep most of the rollerballs that I make in my own collection, I try to use only special or high quality blanks on them.
