    Default chechen burl sierra

    hi guys
    finally had time in daylight to get some pics of latest works
    this is a chechen burl i got from the states
    the finish is an expermint of WOP and it didnt come out to my liking
    but love the grain in this one

    Troy to get a top notch WOP finish the surface has to be like glass unless you want to keep putting coats on to fill the minute holes. I sometimes use Shellawax first then the WOP

    As you said nice grain in the blank.

    The WPO didn't work on that one. As Sam said, the blank has to be like glass first or every defect will show up. Also try sanding with dry MM to 12000 before the WOP.

    Hi Troy

    Nice blank, reminds me of the Brown Mallee.

    Great start to the WOP finish, keep at it and you will get there in the end. Once you perfect it, you won't go back to a CA finish.

    If it was me, I would try perfecting the method on a bunch of scrap blanks first before I moved onto the more valuable stuff like this.
