Churchill pen kits
Just about to buy some Churchill kits, but no one supplier stocks all the platings I want, Sterling Silver, Gold Ti, Black Ti.
Having been bitten by the Berea/Dayacom size scenario before, can someone tell me what difference there is in sizes between kits made by Berea and Dayacom.
I notice that Gary Pye lists a 31/64 and a 17/32 drill size for their Black Ti Churchill kits, Bear Tooth Woods lists 13.3mm and 31/64. One can assume therefore that the bottom end is the same size, however 17/32 = 13.49mm, so that would make the top tube a different size.
Is there any difference in the size of the bushes?

I can't help with your problem but .19mm is pretty close to me so they could be the same.
I do wish they would make individual names for these copy kits it is very frustrating thinking you are buying the same kit only to find it is differentCheers Rum Pig

I think I have the Dayacom kit & bushes at home, but my digital calipers seem to have gone screwy and the display just keeps flashing random numbers. If no one else comes forward, I can try and measure mine tomorrow morning.

Berea's recommendation for the Churchill/El Grande was always 31/64' & 33/64". Ernie, I think, introduced the 13.3 mm off his own bat because the 33/64' was just too tight a hole for the larger tube and people were complaining.
I don't know about the Daycom version, but the 13.3 mm is a perfect fit for the Berea kit, and the fit is such that I would think that I could get away with using 17/32" with no problem. I basically only got the 13.3 mm because I was ordering kits from BTW anyway. As pointed out .19 is not a lot of difference.

Well, 0.2mm doesn't sound a lot, but under or overturn your pens by that amount and you'll soon know about it, DAMHIKT!
Like you RP, I wish Berea and Dayacom would stop their childish games, it makes both of them look silly, either they're the same or a they aren't. If they aren't, don't call them the same name, it only confuses the customer and puts them off side, particularly if the supplier you buy them from insists that they are the the same even when confronted with digital caliper measurements

Hey Fred,
I thought I better check. I never went and measured mine as I assume Texx's info was what you needed. That's right isn't it?
