If your going to raid the lanes only get balls that do not use a filler material lots easier to cut. I might be getting a solid ebonite ball and play with that material, should be interesting.

Good idea on the engraving the only worries I have is stepping on the toes of the proshop that gives me these balls. I want them to make money so they will buy more from me and I figure if I sell them on my site I may charge what they are charging as well so I don't hurt there chances for a sale out of respect.

Cutting them up is the real work. I don't have a riser on my bandsaw so I use a little battery powered circular saw and run a groove arounf the ball and then I get out the sledge and prybar and try to crack it in half and then I can have pieces I can work with. Dirty, messy and fun lol. By the way these balls do not have a filler material which makes it nicer.
