Default Cigars - Sierras - Carbaras made from Red Mallee & Cocobolo

    G'day Folks,
Well this is the last of the pens to come off the production line to make their way to Dubai. i am very happy with them to say the least, they are of course finished with Rustins Plastic Coating. I apologise for the flash on the pictures. The pictures really don't do the pens justice they look great in the hand.

My first reaction was "oh Wow".
They are stunning pens Froggie. Must learn how to do that coating.

    Hi Froggie
Great looking pens and the Rustins plastic gives an excellent finish by the looks
Iwill have to give it a go .
Thanks for the Tutorial on the Rustins Plastic ,In the tutorial it uses C A
Is this important or can you use just use many coats of Rustins Plastic?
    Regards DM

    David,
It all depends what timber you use if the timber you want to coat has a lot of pitted grain you should use CA or you will have to put a lot of coats of Rustins on to fill them in, some timbers you use won't need to have CA applied it is totaly at your own discretion. You can also use a sanding sealer however you have to be careful that use a sanding sealer that is compatible with an epoxy I am led to believe that there is only 1 sealer on the market that is compatible and that is "Haymes Paints - Nitrous Cellulous Sanding Sealer" but it is only sold in a 4 litre tin. I haven't tried any other type of sanding sealer under the Rustins I have always just used the CA so I think I may need to experiment with some sealers so I can eliminate the use of the CA cos I hate the stuff.

That red mallee is one of the nicest timbers I've seen to date. Fantastic finish too.

Note to self - must get some red mallee.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.
