Default My First Closed End Pen

Hello Everyone, This is my first attempt at a closed end item. It's Blackwood finished with eee and shellawax.

I think it turned out quite well, perhaps it seems a little pointy end heavy, maybe I'll try it again with a longer tube at the nib end.

    Ruth.

I like the way the wood has come up.

I think its a pretty good first attempt, pointy or not it would not look out of place on any desk.

Very nicely done and a nice piece of wood. I have never done a closed end, so you are well ahead of me.

Very well done for a first attempt. My first attempt turned out well in the timber but I couldn't get the kit inside it

Thanks everyone. Too kind! Yes I was quite happy with how it turned out. I made it for my daughter, but I think I should probably keep it. I received a large parcel from Timberbits, so I'm right now for a good while! I have bought some Jr Gent kits, and I don't know, but I just don't like the shortness or the tapered screw bit on the end of the pen. I think I will try to make them closed ended (without them ending up looking like a carrot)
