Closed End Pens
G'Day Folks,
Ive been busy with work and visiting family but have at last got back in the workshop ! Courtesy of a wonderful birthday gift of a collet chuck from SWMBO i've made these pens-
Closed end Sedona in Gunmetal with a blank from the Woodnworkshop here in Oz.
Am generally happy with it but need to work on the proportions yet as the pen body is,I feel, a bit too short relative to the cap.

Clsed end Sedona in Chrome and clad in Rosewood burr, with a matt finish and hidden clip. Again not perfect in the proportions - too long in the body. Also I reduced the metal showing at the cap base as I thought it looked better with less metal showing but forgot it reduces the total cap length correspondingly !

As always - C and C welcome !
Regards to you all,

That's a great job on both pens. Anyone who's done closed ended pens knows the problem of getting the right length and taper. It's just really hard to see when you are working on just the barrel. And my the time you see the result, It's too late. But they are really fun to make. I really like the cap finial on the 2nd pen. It may not have been the right length, but it sure looks good with the clip ring hidden.
