It's really nasty stuff, Toni. You want to send it as far away from you as you can. Bundaberg is too close but I, on the other hand, am in Victoria...

Hi Toni,
This dust reaction you've had is NO JOKE!!! Please do take all the precautions when working with it.
Here's another very recent thread about cocobolo and dust that you may not have seen yet.
Hope you are feeling better.
cheers

Hope you do use precautions when you use it again i have bad reactions to black cypress and crows ash still use them but carefully. Skew you have too moist a climate for cocobolo Bundaberg and its drier climate will be perfect

Gee Whiz if you read to many of those bad lists we would not be game to play with much wood would we. I do need to invest in some protection for my own sake but up to now I ahve not used any because i love the smell of wood. But after reading some of the property of wood it does not make sense does it. I was looking at one of my share farmers and he got a dust be gone mask. What does anyone know about them would you recommend it?
thanks Toni

Iroko would most probably do the same.

I think that Toni should send it as far away as possable.
As i live in Scotland UK. I think this is will stop her from the nasty Cocobolo dust.
I have had a look at your pens and i think they are wonderfull. How do you inlay them like the letters and flags. Well done.Last edited by celt40; 6th November 2007 at 10:17 AM. Reason: want to add more content
