    Default Another collaberation

I have always loved Art Deco So when David Broadwell designed his pens I just had to have some. The rollerball kit and blank came from the very generous and helpful Keith at 043 in Beenleigh.

John [ Gawdelpus ] had to make some delrin bushes as Keith had none.

John had the twist kit so between us we spent some time getting things sorted, done and dusted.

Many thanks to Keith, and John in particular for the results you see here.

I hope my lovely wife will be happy to see them on her birthday!!

Pretty darn cool, I particularly like the “marble column” effect.

All came out real well. I am sure they will be well received. Is that real Casein or the faux stuff used on the white pen??? Thanks for showing.

Thanks for the comments fellas!! Much appreciated!

The blank is not casein but some sort of resin. The striping is a result of the extrusion process used to make the rod. That's as much as I know.

I am somewhat embarrsed by my spelling of collaboration

Just some extra info: The blank material can be prone to chipping so a sharp skew is required and a fairly light touch.

I must give full credit to John for his guidance and deft touch here. I have only one eye and do have trouble at times judging just where the skew is so John kindly did the last mm or so when my depth perception failed me.

John was a fitter and turner and his skills have been translated to pen turning. A wonderful source of information, help, suggestions and a great bloke to boot, s John.
