    Default Conkerberry

Another firm favourite timber of mine, over 120 yr branch from the bush in the northern territory. Hard won between the snakes and the very nasty thorns, exciting colour, this pic resulted from sitting the pen on a knob of grapevine in my set up with the set up lights on using my camera handheld with camera flash. No special preparation one of 21 taken (only the one of the pen). Cropped and posted bhere.

This Bush produces what is called a Bush Plum enjoyed by indigenous people, camels, fauna in tough country in NT.

Good one, Peter. As always, excellent work, magnificent timber, and brilliant photography . Conkerberry is still one of my favourites as well - just a pity it's so hard to come by. My granddaughter just finished 2 years at Yulara but wouldn't grab any for me - doesn't like thorns OR snakes!

    Cheers, Gary

Beautiful work and wood Peter. Well done
(Maybe its time to post some more short logs or half logs for pen-makers for sale? No spines or snakes included)

A very smart looking pen Peter. Conkerberry is one of my favourites.
