Coolabah Burl
This is a Cigar Pen I made with the help of my disabled apprentice Tim. This is one of the blanks I bought from Gary Pye and I am very pleased with them because they all have some beautiful figure in them.
Because he usually wants to take the pens home with him when they are finished I have changed from the dipped lacquer finish because it take a bit longer to dry I have gone back to using Shellawax Cream for the finish which comes up well on the harder blanks.

Nice pen Barry but I would really like to see more of it. Could you perhaps get it a little lighter because I was just having a little trouble looking at the figure in it ?
I am not meaning to be picky its a really nice pen.
Cheers Ian

Hi Ian
I no longer have the pen as the young bloke wanted to take it home with him but I have tried to lighten it up in my photo editing software so I will post it again.

Good one Barry!!
I wanted to do some penmaking with the kids at the Special School I taught at. Trouble is tings were never right and I was't a trained Man Arts teacher!
Was no longer allowed to teach kids to swim either, despite having taught hundreds to do so. Wasn't a qualified instructor!
Enough of my bitching. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MATE>
