How are corn cob blanks done ?
I have been collecting some corn cob blanks over the last few weeks and have them drying in the shed but I am not sure what follows from here so if there is anyone out there who can point me the way of a tutorial or some info to explain what I am to do from here it would certainly be appreciated ?

They need to be stabilised. I use Cactus juice, but you can use thin CA, just have to live with the natural colour (which is Ok by the way). Make sure they are very dry, dril a small hole up the middle, cover with gaffa tape, then stand up and fill the hole up with thin CA, top up with more thin CA as it soaks in. Then leave at least 24 hours.

The way i do corncob is cook them, eat them, Then the same day or next day,i drill out the center of the Cob while there still soft, then push a wood dowel / rod thru the drilled out hole, then let them dry out, putting the rod thru the Cob will keep them strait while they are drying out, i haven't found Corn Cob small enough for 7 & 8 mm brass tubes,i like 10mm and up,the smaller the Cob the better they will turn out .
