    Default A couple more decals

These are a couple more decals that I have made during the last few days. The First Sierra Pen is a gift for the coach of a junior Rugby league team. The second is a Gold Bolt action bullet pen with a Royal Australian Air Force Crest and the third is also a bolt a gold bolt action bullet pen but this one has a Royal Australian Army Rising Sun Crest. I am interested in your thoughts ? and although I have posted the Army pen I am not very happy with the final product but will keep trying till I get something I am happy with.

Nice stuff Ian, I might have to have another go at some of these decals.

Nice work, I've had a brief experiment with them before but couldn't get my printer to print a high enough quality for me to be happy with. I was also making my crests much smaller though as well.

These look great. Is the printed image just wrapped around a white acrylic blank then casted or a white painted tube then casted?

    Looks great either way

You know how it is if I tell you thenI would have to shoot you but the decal is applied to a blank that I have made and turned down to the correct size after that the decal is sealed onto the blank and then the whole thing is cut and polished to give you a nice shinny finish also Corbs I have found that the smaller decals are by far the harder to do because you need something that you can read and the smaller the print gets the harder it is to read. If you look through my decals you will see the Navy Band and also Navy band association pens that I have done. I don't think you would like to go any smaller.

i was asked about decals the other day, looks like i am off to buy a printer which i have been avoiding

these look pretty damn good to me

can i ask though why not use a white tube, apply the decal and cast in clear resin, i would have thought you would get better depth and possibly magnification as well

    all the best

Thanks Ian, I was thinking to go small with the idea that I could put a rate badge and someones name on the pen as well. I can't think of a way the crest in that size with a name would work in a way which I'd be happy with but I will keep experimenting

Looks good to me Ian. You could have a smaller crest on the pens under the clip given the spare space there.
