Cracks, Voids and branch remnants in blanks.
Hi everyone, I have been sawing up a lot of timber into pen blanks and some have cracks, voids and branch remnants in them. If I was using them I would glue them up no problems, but I just don't want to dump them. The current batch are highly figured European Olive and I was wondering what others do with them?
Thanks,
Rgds,
Crocy.

Matt, thanks for the reply. I was trying to get the best recovery from a lot of split and twisted branches and pen blanks were the lowest common denominator. So I have about 40 odd stunning blanks, with defects and I don't want to waste them if they can be saved by someone.

Crocy.

Do you have any photos of the pieces in question? If suitably deformed/damaged they may be able to be cast in resin to use for pens or other objects if they are larger.
