Cross Cut Red Lancewood
A new pen to me, bought it from CWS at the Brisbane show. The components are a Gun Metal Vertex Click Pen. It is a straight forward pen to make. Yet to get bushes for this pen so used the digitals and measured the components and turned to size. The length of the tube allows to show the grain of the timbers used as well as the possibility to be a bit artsy fartsy in design. As I prefer the classical straight clean lines for a pen, that is what I did. It is dressed out in a piece of cross cut Red Lancewood, finished with 20 coats of CA, sanded to 12000 MM and a four stage buff off the lathe. I am using the name that it was sold to me as, many others will call this Dead Finish. See what you think. Comments and critique welcome.
Cheers
Darren

Nice pen and timber Darren these have a nice soft click action ,and I often do the barrels in hex form , to match the style , my take on these generally is they are a "blokey" pen hehe, cheers ~ John

isn't it amazing how cross cut timber brings out so much more of even a plain piece of timber, and the grains lines in this is no exception
great job
all the best
