    Default Cross-cut sheoak stylus sierra

    Hi everyone,

Here's a stylus Sierra pen from Timberbits wrapped in some cross-cut Sheoak.
Coated with 21 coats of thin CA, then micro-mesh all the way to 12,000 grit.

    Comments welcome. Simon.

Yep it's been a great long weekend
I made a couple more but am keeping them secret - I made a few nasty errors in one, and I'm keeping another one secret because I'm sending it to my fellow forum member for the Aus Day pen swap.

Good work Simon but you really need to square off the ends of your blanks after you put the CA on. It will give a far better fit for the kits and a better end result. Its easy to make your own tool to do it on your lathe.

Hi plantegenon thanks for the tip, but I'm not sure what you mean. I square them off by holding vertically over a piece of 320g sandpaper on my bench, and sand in a circular motion. David (Timberbits) shows this in one of his videos on his website. Is there a better way of doing it?
