Superbly crafted, flawlessly finished my friend, would not expect anything less than what stands before me. The wildness of the grain that has been tamed by your hand. To look into the grain, one can feel the trauma of the pressures of nature being forced in each direction. Then you have crafted a thing of beauty, peaceful and serene. You truly are a master of looking beyond a square peice of timber. You allow it to talk to you Peter and you listen to what it has to say. All the best to you and all yours.

That is very dark Rosewood do you know what type of Rosewood it is?

Excellant work ,and wood ,there's just a little more wood on those style pens to add some strength and thickness to work with ,cheers ~John

Ditto. There are dozens of Rosewoods. Do you know which this is? Very rich colors. I like it a lot. Do you remember the source?

I agree the location could be anywhere ces la vie. When you buy from a longgg way away you are at the mercy of the seller for description, in fact I have a whole lot of unidentified stuff cause I have forgotten over the years things I knew once so well.

The colour sometimes could be down to me as occassionally I use Boiled Linseed Oil before my normal finishes, please refrain from asking what finish is that cause that decision is so minor to me I can forget and to guess would be misleading.

Right now I am going all out on perfection in measuring the tips and tops amongst my kits as sometimes when they coat them they must put their gear on auto and go to lunch. To neglect this cost me a split the other day and this prompted me to say to you do what I will now do and mark and measure and expand tubes where necessary before glueing.

Could be the reason splits occur with no fault of the timber at all. Brass sizes vary, winding mechs pretty consistently good but beware of tips and tops.
