Custom cast silver slimline
Hey folks,
Had a request from one of the girls at work for a slimline pen in blue & black with white streaks if possible. She didn't want gold as her skin is too acid she says, so she wanted a chrome type.
I did this fancy slimline with a silver finish. Anyone know if it's likely to wear quickly?
Anyway, I did add some interference violet streaks, but they all seem to have disappeared in the turning. That's the problem with these thin pens, you don't end up with much of the blank variety as they're so small. Hope she's happy with it anyway.

I like the silver much more than I like the chrome plating. It's much brighter.

very nice pen I have the same problem with most metals in that my skin is very acidic. I use a chrome pen as a result. I find silver to be ok too.

Nice looking pen.
I too prefer the silver to the chrome.

I'm with Amos...
The thing tha sets it off is that, with the exception of the hardware, the pen is totaly your creation should make it very special to her, it is truly one of a kind.
Silver plating will wear, but it holds up a lot better than the gold, it reacts less with skin acids.
The chrome finish will wear even better, as long as it dosent get a deep scratch in it.
Oh, and the silver plating is applied over a chrome base finish, so it should wear pretty well considering...
