    Default Customer Shoots ............

An old Winchester Model 1894 30-30 and WWII .303 British Lee-Enfield Jungle Carbine and wanted to know if I could incorporate both into a ballpoint pen, so this is what I came up with.

Lookin good Les did you use a parker refill ? I am in the process of doing some bolt actions using .410 shot casings ( not as simple as it looks ) hehe ,inspired by one you showed recently

    Thanks John,

    I used a Cross refill.

The great thing with using the 36 gauge (.410) is it has the same OD as the 30 cal Bolt Action components.
I did some more with the polished .410 brass with Gold plating.

Gold is nice hehe, but out of my customer base price range I did find that the .410 casing is close to size, but they are tapered by about .010" and the larger size is .467 compared to the nib end of the bolt action at .481" , that should be taken up mostly by powder coating (or in your case by your dip process ) . I might try a gloss black powder coat on one of them just to see if it is suitable , cheers ~ John

To match the cut .410 casing to the components I just resize the cut ends.

Les ! no idea on resizing , and no gear to do it, as you probably know,we have very restrictive gun laws here in Aussie, so only a small proportion of licensed shooters ,I don't know any in my circles . In fact I had to import my .410 casings ,and usually my .50 spent casings as well ,sometimes just not worth the trouble , but I like to have as much variety on display as I can manage to attract attention at local markets . I will cope with the tapers at this point as I have already glued up and turned the bodies with tapers to match the casings But thanks for the Heads up. I might revise my next batch if these sell ok cheers ~ John
