I had never even thought of using fencing for pen blanks. Guess what I will be looking at the next time I go to the hardware store. Thanks for the tip.

Are the fence posts sold in the timber section or the garden section?
Very nice pens, Amos, and your pen-boxes are just as nice. Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Amos
That is a definitive pen and what a finish, what a top colour simply the best shape and all, well captured, the best of the best.
Went to Bunnungs and bought a few pieces selecting the bent tops or damaged plus two real good ones, will have fun,I intend to cut it on the angle 45 degrees, thanks for sharing. Peter

Zenwood, the picketts were just near the ladders inside, just ask for a picket fence so you can make a pen !!!!!! Thanks Peter, that pen was going to be fatter, but someone lost concentration and had to shave more off it than at first anticipated?!!! Amos

CA Glue
Just checked my box purchased yesterday. No need to cut the top off the bottle is transparent completely fluid, it is supposed to have a shelf life of two years. Also the firm is on the net in Melbourne I would ring them direct with details there does not seem to be a made or use by date stamped anywhere, I would then ask the manufacturer about this for reassurance however none of this should be necessary when you contact special orders desk in Bunnings.
Have success Peter

I can't find cypress here, so I have to settle for the aromatic cedar. The knotty-er the better! Looks very similar to this, except for the color.. the cedar is pink/purple till it ages a few months, then it turns brown and tan..
Looks really nice!
ps .. did we get stuck in a time warp?
good thing it wasn't a time loop!

very nice pens Amos
I cut up a couple of leftover cyprus floor boards on the bias last weekend and was going to maybe do one or two this weekend
Now I'll have to except it's cold and miserable out there.
NL88 we'll have to do a trade
