Darn it Amos...
Had the nib and holder from a El Grande fountain pen just sitting on my work table, and of course I saw his kitless thread...ah ha!
The blank is called Molten Metal, cast by a friend in a little town called Alvin, Texas.
Drilled the body to use the Waterman refill instead of the shorty that comes with kits.
No clip because the person who wants it (my locomotive engineer)dosen't wear shirts with pockets and carries his pens in a side pocket of his work pants.
Still want to see the current one Amos is working on, and would like to see other forum members give this a go, just to see the creativity and ideas!"That's why I love my computer,,,,,,,, my friends live in it."

Not bad for a beginner Ed!!!, in fact I'm green with jealousy, Now I just have to make another to see if it can be doneAmos.
Very well done Ed, and that is a good idea about using different refills. AmosGood, better, best, never let it rest;

I like the pen Ed.
You don't make many that i don't like though, so no surprise.

Very Nice work ED 10 out of 10 on both counts. I love the blank and you have done a great job on the pen itself.
Congratulations
Cheers Ian

She's a beauty!
I've got to take the next step and go kitless....just wish it wasn't so hard on the purse-strings to start with(but what is easy).
What was your tap/die measurements? If I may ask.....

Scott,
Its 9.5mm X1, but I didn't cut the threads, thats part of the nib holder, and the interior of the cap has the threaded sleeve in it.
Just leftovers from a blown up kit a few years ago, and looking at the thread Amos has going, I realized there was a use for them.
Had to turn the back bart of the nib down to 27/64" but thats the only modification...no tubes or clip, and a different ink refill.
I really want to see the other pen he is working on, I admire his work and his willingness to experiment and try different things, and I would love it if someone else jumped in and tried this also, it makes you more concise and accurate in your work, plus they just look fun."That's why I love my computer,,,,,,,, my friends live in it."

Ed, my other pen has been remade 3 times so far, the material is very touchy. I am at the turning down stage, but that must wait for another night. Amos
