A day in the shed
Its been a long day in the shed (in between pushing my grandson on the swing). This is today's efforts to build up my supply. Drilling the blanks and gluing in the tubes was done last weekend. So today was only turning, Sanding, CA, MM, Canaubra wax and assembly. Thank heavens for the transfer punches I got from McJings this week at they came in handy on a couple of occasions as I was getting tired.
The only other problem I have faced is the Timberbits bottle the thin CA comes in. As you turn them upright again after dripping the CA onto the blank a little bit of CA runs down the outside of the spout each time and builds up until it ends up spilling on your hands. Saved by disposable gloves this time Has anyone else had this problem?
Pens (forgive the photography -- getting tired) are:
Streamline chrome in Rock Maple with BLO before CA
Sierra gold and gun metal with Eucalypt Burl
Fancy Slimline gold with Silky Oak
Sierra gold and gun metal with Huon Pine and BLO before CA
Sierra gold and gun metal with Tasmanian Myrtle
Sierra gold and gun metal with Tasmanian Myrtle and BLO before CA
Sierra gold and gun metal with Fiddleback
Sierra gold and gun metal with Houn Pine
Sierra gold and gun metal with Eucalypt Burl
Streamline chrome with Canadian Rock Maple and BLO before CA
Now just dinner to cook.

Big weekend Greg !, great bunch of pens too. I also spent the best part of the weekend turning wedding pens / pen sets for the display I'm setting up at the wedding shop in town. I only managed 10 pens for the weekend, as I wanted every pen to be 100% perfect. I even went out and bought a new set of Kincrome digital verniers to make sure I was spot on in the 'end of tube' measurement. Wost thing is, I was just too buggered to vacuum and dust my shed after the mega session. Couldn't sleep all night worrying about the mess
I never forget anything I remember !!
