A good mate of mine who lives just south of me has lost 4 small dogs due to death adders. He has an acreage and backs onto a creek and rain forest. He trod on one a few months ago at night when he went to get something off the clothes line. Bit his thong and just mist his foot.

Death Adders in Cairns? There is a lot to be said against gun control. A flame thrower is a nice weapon to light up the back yard at night and remove vermin.
