Deal of the Day
Hi Folks,
Well, this is the first pen I've made in over a year. Seems its a bit like riding a bike. I'm rusty, but haven't forgotten everything.
This is the first in a range of new Polymer Clay pens and blanks I'm going to be working on. The result is a little scratchy, but the idea worked as I wanted, just have to do some refinements.
Hope you like it.

Looks good to me Russell ,did you buy the shapes to apply ,or cut them out yourself ?
I think a CA finish would bring them out even more But good to see you getting back into the "addiction" after a year off you should be full of ideas and things to do hehe, cheers ~ JohnG'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

I didn't buy the shapes, but soon, you might be able to I made them with an extruder. I have a bunch of different shapes that I'm going to try out.
I was going to put a CA finish on, which I normally do with PC as it's a little soft left bare, but when I went looking for my linseed oil, I remembered the rats ate through all the bottles I had So CA finishes will have to wait till I can pick up a fresh bottle.

What a great looking concept, I love it!! I was thinking it was anew laser cut blank.
Are you sure you want to put linseed oil on polymer clay? I know mineral oil will soften it so I'm wondering if linseed will eventually soak in and do the same thing ... just a thought.

Hmmm, well it's for the CA, not the blank, although I'm sure some of it will interact. Interesting question as to whether it softens it once it's set, or whether the CA seals and hardens that it doesn't affect it.
I'm not sure to be honest. I guess experimentation and time will tell.
