    Default First decal pens

I have been making pens for our Navy guys that are on deployment in the Gulf as part of the Pen for the Troops campaign.

It was good opportunity to try the decal system out

The White Sierra is a home made acrylic and the navy emblem on it the other is a modified slimline, the timber is Koto and the CB is black acrylic, the decal is the ships crest. Both sealed with WOP.

Looks pretty good. Where'd you source the decals from?

Was there any problem with the decal being affected by the WoP?

The one on the Koto lacks a little contrast in the photo. Is it more distinct in person? A darker wood may make it more distinct, although you may lose the ribbon at the bottom then.

Russell in the hand they both look good. I am making my own decals with the Testor set up.

I had a few not work as normal for a new thing but have got the hang of it know. Once you have the gear you can make anything. The paper comes in a clear background or white and the decals water slide into position.

Oh OK, I didn't realise we could get decal paper in Australia. You do mean the inkjet paper version? Kind of expensive per sheet, you'd have to plan out a whole sheet in advance I guess.

You can get it here in Oz but it is expensive I purchased mine OS when the dollar was up but it would still be cheaper to buy OS. The only part you van not get from OS is the debonder you would have to but that in Australia. All the model shops carry the stuff and you can get injet and laser paper they are not intercahangable and yes a lot of wasteage need to plan well, i purchased the pro pack nand got also of extra decal stencils and fonts. this is the first time I have played with it. The inportnat part is to wait 24 hours after the debonder has been sprayed before attempting to set the decal and then you need a steady hand. Hope this all makes sense

Cheers Russell tell me more about the reunion I am definitely interested and I have the The Voltz interested as well.

What do you suggest for a limited edition reunion pen can do one for engineers as well
    as one for FUB's.

I am on the mailing list but have heard nothing.

    Please email me
