    Default Deer Antler Pen

    Hi,
This is a deer antler pen that I just turned, was surprised how much it did not smell, perhaps it is because it was so old?
    Finished high grit sand paper.

I dunno, most of the "Old Dears" I know are pretty smelly Nice work though.

I'm yet to tempt any bone type materials, I'm not sure my tools (or my sharpening skills) are up to it.

They are a good kit Ben, just put an order in with Timberbits for for samples for my local guild to sell. Gee I would like your stock of antler, to have stuff that doesn't stink would be brilliant. Did a good job turning it, what finish did you use on your pen?

    Cheers

There is no finish on it just sanded it to about 3000 and it puts a shine on its self. The antler that I have is quite skinny and did not leave a rough texture. You can also use a CA finish on it.
