    Default Desert Ironwood Statesman

i made it the night before and the very next day someone bought it, should have kept it. my first fountain statesman

Oh well, good timber will come by again. But this was truly a unique piece. hald of it was seeping oil and i couldnt get it out. Only after a long time of spinning and soaking it in acetone that i did managed to get a coat of CA on it.

i applied more than 15 coats just to be safe. took it off and tried, pen barrel was too thick for end cap. shaved down some wood and started from scratch again. Coated with 5 coats of CA and sanded to 12000 and polished with friction wax.

    Cheers,
    Freddie

Beautiful work Freddie. I love the colour and grain in the blank. Great fit and finish mate.

A more plain background would be better for the pen

    That's a real beauty Freddie!
    Amazing piece of timber.
Fit and finish is excellent with a nice choice of kit and plating to show of the timber.
    Well done.
