The knots have a habit of falling out. Not all but some.

Sam. May I ask--why the brass polish Brasso. Can't you go from the12000 to the plasticX & get the same shine? Imagine you've tried it, but does it make that much diff. Thanks

Lovely bit of work and wood hehe! curious about this soaking in CA ,at what point do you "soak" the timber and how, I can see the sense in trying to strengthen the wood by this means ,just seems it could be a bit expensive on CA ,if you partially turn the blank and then brush on a coat or 2 that makes sense to me
    Cheers ! still learning

I find that the brasso paste Attachment 85969

takes off the last of the lines and the PlasticX polish gives it the protection and lustre.

GP like Pasho said the knots are not stable so I give it a good soak in CA then as I am turning it do a wet slurry CA sand as well. End result is the knot is stable and hopefully won't pop out and ruin a nice pen.
