Double digits!
Hi All
After a testing week both in and out of the garage I finally finished my ninth and tenth pens.
Number nine is the first of a pair or River Red Gums from a tree felled at a friends place near Adelaide on Murray. It has been a testing time trying to do this one with numerous pieces splitting when drilling or turning or sanding. The nib end is not the greatest fit but didnt want to get too close as this has been one of the main problem ends. It is sanded to 600, then micromeshed. Then given a quick hit with EEE to restore some colour then 10 coats CA and some Brasso.
The second is a Sierra with Orchid and white acrylic for my wife. Left tube unpainted for effect and micromeshed then auto-polish.
Starting to feel more confident with my CA finish now

Fit and finish look well done.
Nice choice of plating to complement that Timber and Acrylic.
Well done.

Very nice, as you say the nib end blank is a little proud of the nib but this is something that you will overcome as you get more confidence and experience and remember, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Just go for it. but overall, great effort and well done.
Reality is no background music.
Cheers John
