Year of the Dragon 2012 on a Baron RB
Haven't posted a lot of my turningz lately, but I figured it was time to share one!
Having made just a few of these blanks for my website, I finally got around to making one almost worthy to be viewed....is it perfect, probably not? But it'll be sold before I get to work(got to stop at the USPS place this morning to mail some stuff, it won't come out of there)
Painted the tubes white with rattle can Fusion, applied the stamps and sealed them with two(2) coats of ModPodge and then cast them in clear PR.
Squared the ends, applied some thinCA to keep the water during the wetsanding from getting under the acrylic.
Turned between centers, while constantly checking with the calipers for that magical number.
Sanded 400 and 800 grit wet, then used all the pretty colored pads to 12K(also wet).
Final step before assembly, PlastixPolish.....
And here's the result!
And un-posted:
Any comments would be greatly appreciated, but critiques are better for me to learn from! Thanks for looking!!!

WOW that is very well done. I do like it. Me being me I would prefer silver kit. Gold really does not go for me. Apart from that is looks great.

Thought that was you! You sure did snatch those two sets up quick!
Guess it's better you got them when you did, cause as quickly as this pen sold at the PostOffice, I wish I would have made more(but I did order some more of these stamps)
Scott (thanks for the nice words everyone) B

Hi Scott
That is a very fine pen you have created.
I think the blank matches the gold kit well compared to a chrome or rhodium kit. there is already gold in the stamps and introducing chrome would throw in a distraction.
Great pen - thanks for sharing.
