    Default Dumb fountain pen question

I'm making a fountain pen for a friend, and while I own/have used fountain pens in the past I've not made one before.

The pen kit is a Baron II, and I'm not entirely sure how the ink all goes in. It comes with an ink cartridge which looks similar (albiet smaller) to the Lamy fountain pen refills I have for my fountain pen and what I think is a pump. I *think* the white thing is a sheath for pressing the nib in. Is it a case of using the cartridge or the pump (I guess for bottled ink refilling and the like)?

Unscrew the nib end from the tube , the ink cartridge just pushes onto the back end of the nib as does the pump assy if you prefer to use that.

Viking Code, as suggested above, here are some pictures.
    1. Once you assemble the kit, you can throw away the plastic protective(white) cover.
    2. You can use the Converter Pump, just push it into the end of the nib base firmly.
    3. Or you can use the Ink Cartridge , same thing, just push it into the end of the nib base.
If you don't intend using the pen, then do not fill the converter, or don't push the cartridge in.
To test the nib, just dip the nib part into an ink bottle and try it out, then wash out with water. That way the ink will not dry in the ink flutes on the underside of the nib.

Cheers guys, that helps a lot! Pen now assembled, I'll leave the ink out until previously mentioned friend figures out what he wants on that front.
