    Default More EB

I was granted 5 seconds on the lathe and this was the result. Well it might have been a bit longer.

This an Aussie EB made by request for a client the timber is BOW finished in CA/BLO

This is another Aussie EB the wood is Rose Wood I can not take photos to do the timber justice. The little hole was filled with coffee and CA finished with CA/BLO
    Attachment 116488Attachment 116489
These 2 are standard EB made from an old gun stock I posted some time ago and I think the timber is walnut finished with CA/BLO.

I hope you enjoy looking at them and all comments welcome.

    Hey Rum Pig,

    Looking good mate, beautiful timbers.

This may sound pedantic, but I reckon that Australiana pens should be done in Australian Timbers, (Just my point of View)

I totally agree with you. Even if it is not native but at lest grown in oz.
The BOW was a special request and I did try and persuade him into going all oz but he said it was for his mum and she is very religious and would love the fact that the timber has come from the holy land
The Rose Wood whilst is not native was grown in Darwin's botanical gardens.

Thanks for all your kind comments

Nice work indeed ,you do have to respect the customers wishes in the end hehe, I also think "ozzie" pens "ozzie" woods just did a couple in spalted stringybark, and red gum , might stretch to a green and gold acrylic if pushed lol.( the best pushing is an open wallet ) cheers ~ John

I haven't made any of the Aussie kits yet but agree with the woods used, at the end of the day though... the client is always right

Nice pens and really do need to get myself some of them.

Nice pens RumPig...Just one lttle question, How did you manage to sneak a branch of a tree from the botanical gardens without the botanist or groundskeeper seeing you? Was it one of those midnight missions?

There was a number of trees that had to be removed due to cyclone damage in the garden's.
I happen to know the arborist how won the job to remove the trees and he has to pay $$$ to dump his timber at the tip and I have a block that he can dump certain trees on for free Rose wood happens to be one of those trees
