    Default Ebony and Alu Rollerball

    I used some New Guinea Ebony and some 6060 aluminium to make this one. The cap is sleeved with black Ebonite to take the threads.

    Cap threads are 12x0.8mm double start, pen body is 13mm diameter, cap 15mm.

    The Ebony has 3 coats of CA, knocked back with 0000 steel wool, then a coat of Ubeaut traditional wax.

    I haven't made a clip for it yet, I was planning a clip made from 1.6mm stainless welding wire, can't find my stash in the shed, and don't want to make the trip into town, so it will have to wait for the time being.

    Great work, Brad, and up to your usual very high standard. The dark Ebony is a good contrast against the aluminium, but I still favour timbers with a very distinctive grain. But when I've made as many pens as you or Penpal I might think differently - No I won't, I'll be long gone before I ever catch up! And a question - to replace the refill does it unscrew at the nib section or the centre band, or maybe pull apart like the normal pen kits?
