This is a Broker in Tassie Oak. I had to patch it up a little with Ca but it turned out OK. It is a Rustins finish which I am trying. Hope it meets with approval.

I really like the way you made the barrel fit the lines of the pen. Nicely done! Beautiful timber too.

Nice pen Mrs W. is that a dark piece of Tassi oak or is it the Rustins that gives it the colour.

Be very careful, once you start it is a worse addiction that smoking or gambling or ........ you become obsessed with green waste piles, people renovating, talk to complete strangers, exchange your first born for.... oops sorry, mind playing trick

Nice pen Mrs W. From the photo its a nice piece of Tas Oak (almost looks like a bit of burl with the unusual grain). The Rustins finish looks pretty good too, I really love using it myself and found the most important tool was a good fine bristle brush. Once I changed over to a $7 from a craft shop from a cheapo from you know where... the finishes improved dramatically... again, nice work and keep the pics coming.

It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.
